In 2008, to address government commitments to improve child and youth health issues, the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Cultural Industries (formerly MHP), developed a "Child and Youth Health and Wellness After-School Strategy." This strategy is focused on supporting comprehensive after-school programming in specific priority neighbourhoods where school-age residents can benefit from new or enhanced program focused on physical activity, healthy eating and nutrition, wellness and personal health education.
To help ensure consistency and sufficient time for members to be exposed to key topics, program time is dedicated to each topic over the period of a month. Over the course of a month, the program will offer:

Children aged 5 -12 (Grades 1 - 6) can register
Priority is given to families who are working and/or enrolled in school

Monday through Friday from 3:15pm - 5:30pm
Program Fees:
$2.50/per day/per child (fee subsidy is available - please contact Director of Programs & Services for further information)
